R.E.M.[INI]SENSE explores the transitional territory experienced in a woman’s passage through time by excavating memories of childhood homes and spaces. The liminal dream state I work with alludes to the repetitive acts of sleeping and dreaming and the passing of time as this feminine journey unfolds. The work alludes to subliminally transferring between the various roles and stages in woman’s journey.

The slow process of etching and the care and attention to detail embraced in its progression, relate to the paths that women tread; while the qualities of multiplicity in printmaking evoke the repetitive rituals of feminine phases or life stages. This series of images suggests a continuous quest to surmount the transitional challenges encountered along the way.
